3 Ways to Grow your Beauty Clientele

Building a thriving beauty business takes more than just knowing and performing the service—it requires strategy, consistency, and a strong connection with your clients. If you’re looking to attract more clients and keep them coming back, I have three powerful ways I believe will help you to grow your beauty clientele!

In this post, I’m sharing 3 actionable ways to grow your beauty clientele! The three areas include:

·      Networking + Collaborating

·      Optimizing your Online Presence

·      Enhancing your Client Experience

If you’re ready to grow your clientele and create strategic ways to keep them coming back, keep reading! I’m giving you my recommendations based on 8 years in the industry! Let’s get started!

1. Network and Collaborate

Building relationships with other small businesses and people in your community can significantly expand your reach to potential new clients. Here’s how:

  • Collaborate with Local Businesses: Team up with hairstylists, makeup artists, or spas to cross-promote services. Join your local Chamber of Commerce and submerse yourself in events and meetups. Find out-of-industry networking events to attend, you never know who you may meet who would be a great word of mouth promoter for you!

  • Attend Industry Events: Networking at beauty conferences, workshops, or local meet-ups can help you connect with potential clients and like-minded professionals.

Actionable Steps: Search local Facebook groups for business networking groups. Some are city specific, or small business in general. Be brave and sign up for the next one coming up! Check out your Chamber of Commerce and see what the costs are, or what you can do on a budget with them.

2. Optimize Your Online Presence

Your digital presence plays a crucial role in attracting new clients. Ensuring your online platforms are professional and easy to use can make all the difference. There a TONS of ways to be present digitally, but here are a few of my favorites!

  • Create a User-Friendly Website: This is an ABSOLUTE! Ensure your website includes service details, pricing, an easy booking system, and client testimonials.

  • Online Reviews: Positive reviews on Google, Yelp, and Facebook build trust and encourage potential clients to book with you. You can offer $5 off, give a small sample size gift or any other small gesture to help push those reviews.

  • Utilize SEO Strategies: Use relevant keywords in your website and social media profiles to improve search engine visibility and attract local clients. I always recommend hiring this out if you don’t specialize or have an understanding of it.

Actionable steps: Do a quick social media bio audit as well as a booking site/website audit. Look for these few things, and if your sites don’t have it, add them! Location: do clients know where you are located? How to find you? Your address NEEDS to be in your bio on social media, and on your front landing/home page of your website. Clients won’t even give you a try if they can’t find you! What services you offer: create a simple service menu of what services you offer, and please please please list your prices online as well. If a client can find you, decides to check out your services, but can’t find a price, 8/10 they’ll go to someone else’s website who does offer that information. How to book: also an absolute must! Nothing worse than thinking “Yes! This lash girl is in my area, love her prices…..but hello? How do I book with her??”. Trust me, I hear it a lot from struggling beauty professionals. Link your booking site to your website, and have a link in your bio of social media.

3. Enhance Your Client Experience

A satisfied client is more likely to return and refer others. Focus on making every appointment memorable by:

  • Providing Excellent Customer Service: Greet clients warmly and by name, listening to their needs, and personalize their experience so they feel like they’re your only client. Treat them like royalty!!

  • Creating a Comfortable Atmosphere: Ensure your beauty space is clean, inviting, and aesthetically pleasing. The moment a client walks in the door, until they leave should be a 5 start experience. The client experience does not stop once they’re in your chair or on your table/bed. Remember how you speak to clients, how your space smells, or kept clean all play an important role in your overall client experience.

  • Follow Up: Send a thank-you text or card after appointments, remind clients of upcoming visits, and check in on their results. A lot of this can be automated, which frees up time for you! Use a booking system that can send automatic follow up texts/emails post service. A booking system that sends a text/email a day or two before their appointment. Find ways to free up your TIME so you can use more of your time to focus directly on clients.

Actionable steps: I always tell my students and those I’ve worked with to do this drill. Walk into your space, from the front door, as though you were a client. What would you notice? What smells do you smell? Does the trash give a ick vibe from overflowing? Is your room set up for ease of movement, and is there somewhere to set your things? Clients noticed even the littlest details like tools in the sink, lash extensions scattered on the floor (from the last client!), dirty bedding, dust and more! If you see any area that could use improvement, start there. Then dive deep into your word tracks (how you greet clients/do consultations), the service protocols (are they done the same every time so trust is built through consistency?), your rebooking steps etc

Growing your beauty clientele takes time, but with the right strategies, you can create a steady flow of loyal clients. By using social media & your website effectively, implementing referral programs, and enhancing the client experience, you’ll set yourself apart in the beauty industry. The more consistent you are with your client experience and what they can expect, that builds trust, which draws clients back over and over.
